New York: Long Islanders Sue Over Health Concerns About New Cellphone Towers

“This is an issue that is critical — not just to all of Long Island, but all of the United States,” said plaintiffs’ attorney Andrew Campanelli, “because across the United States, no wireless facilities are being tested.”

Long Islanders Sue Over Health Concerns About New Cellphone Towers
newyork.cbslocal.com, 19 October 2017

MINEOLA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Long Island residents are raising health concerns as cellphone transmission equipment continues to be installed in many areas.

As CBS2’s Jennifer McLogan reported, some neighbors are joining together to fight towers going up close to their homes, schools and houses of worship.

Jodi and Peter Abraham anxiously clutched their just-filed federal lawsuit as they walked out of Nassau County Supreme Court Thursday, challenging hundreds of unregulated and wireless facilities, still going up by the dozens across Huntington and Oyster Bay.

“We are not anti-tech. We are not anti-cellphone,” Peter Abraham said. “But we believe cell towers should be put up in a responsible way.”

WHO Global Conference on Noncommunicable diseases: Enhancing policy coherence between different spheres of policy making that have a bearing on attaining SDG target 3.4 on NCDs by 2030.

Montevideo, Uruguay, October 18-20 2017.

One of the documents of the conference is The Montevideo Roadmap:

“…highlights the need for coordinated and coherent action from all sectors and the whole of society, as many of the main drivers of ill health lie outside the control of health ministries, systems and professionals. Non-State actors, including civil society and industry, have important roles to play.”

Cell Phone Toxins Absorbed by YOU

Letter from Prof. Olle Johansson to Dr. Brad Weeks, commenting on Dr. Marc Arazi's latest press release on Phonegate: "Welcome to La La Land":

Cell phone toxins absorbed by YOU
Posted by Bradford S. Weeks, MDweeksmd.com, 16 October 2017

Dr. Weeks’ Comment: My friend and colleague Olle Johansson, associate professor The Experimental Dermatology Unit Department of Neuroscience Karolinska Institute 171 77 Stockholm Sweden sent me this. He is losing his academic position due in part to his tenaciously clarifying and broadcasting the dangers of electrical pollution.

Dr Brad,

Please, see this very important press release, new to some of you, but I guess many of you already know about it:

My personal comment to it: The most recent research, like the “Phonegate” data from France, investigating the real radiation levels at ordinary close contact between body and phone, do not indicate that current RF exposure levels are just a fraction of what national and international exposure guidelines permit, quite the opposite. They clearly show that the recorded exposure levels actually are 3 times higher than the allowed maximal ones, so the differences pointed out by me for many years may be even bigger. As you know, this revelation has created a huge scandal in France, with ramifications all the way up to their National Assembly and Senate, as well as up to the European Union. Similar figures are now starting to emerge from other countries and laboratories, pointing to the flawed FCC and ICNIRP guidelines (also having been a theme for my endless nagging for years). — As a matter of fact, such guidelines lack any form of biologically-based exposure standards or hygienic safety levels (the only such latter ever proposed by myself*). Instead the safety of these gadgets are determined using so-called technical recommendations based on acute heating of fluid-filled plastic dolls, and only allowing you to make one (!) single, 6-minute long, mobile phone call once in your life-time. Does that make you feel safe?

Phonegate: Dr. George Carlo Supports International Action

Phonegate:  Dr. George Carlo Supports International Action
by Marc Arazi, arazi.fr, 20 October 2017

Message from Marc Arazi: "Yesterday in Paris, where he made a brief stop, I had the great pleasure of meeting Dr. George Carlo, world-renowned scientist and precursor in 1999 of the information on the health risks of mobile telephony. At the time, Dr. Carlo led an important study for industry, costing more than 20 million dollars. A courageous person and scientist of integrity, he has not hesitated to expose the dangers that his studies have shown. It is a real honor to be able to work with him on this public health issue. He gladly agreed to leave this short video message [in English] to support the international action against the health and industrial scandal of Phonegate. Many thanks, George!"

Did an Obsolete, Poorly Maintained Power Grid Spark California Fires?
by Harvey Wasserman, Truth Dig,
17 October 2017

The raging fires and toxic smoke clouds pouring through Northern California can only be described as apocalyptic.

Were they sparked by Pacific Gas & Electric’s centralized grid?

And where are our federal government and national media?

More than 40 people are dead; many more are missing. Given how fast the fires raced through the region, it’s possible that other humans—as well as farm animals, pets and wildlife—have been incinerated.

In many cases, the margin for escape was five minutes or less. Some people who did not leave their homes at the first sign of danger died. Some stood in home swimming pools for hours while everything burned around them. Flames leaped over Highway 101 and other major roads, creating firestorms with temperatures of 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit and more.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — As wireless communication increasingly becomes a way of life, some health advocates say there is little-to-no communication about the health risks associated with radiation emitted by devices such as cellphones.

Theodora Scarato, executive director at the Environmental Health Trust, organized a rally at the U.S. Supreme Court to proclaim the public's right to know about the dangers of wireless communications.

"I think the public has the right to know that these devices emit radiation,” Scarato said. “But we need to do more than that. We need to be contacting our elected officials, you know, calling that we be informed, that there be public notice and public hearings."

7 Ways EMF Technology Seriously Threatens Entire Populations

7 Ways EMF Technology Seriously Threatens Entire Populations
Posted by M M , galacticconnection.com, 10 October 2017

Recently, over 180 medics and scientists sent a document to the European Union appealing for the suspension of the new 5G EMF technology planned to roll out. Essentially, the 11 page document warns that EMF technology is a serious environmental hazard, harmful to life.

That the new 5G EMF technology has not been properly tested for safety and has been blindly approved without health evaluation. The medics and scientists call for a proper health evaluation and while being carried out a suspension of the 5G.

However, the unconditional push for EMF technology continues. The push involves a number of individuals, particularly those in high places, biased and blinded by money or the want for control, only seeing the EMF technology’s advantages.

A new study published in the journal PLOS One provides preliminary evidence that smartphones are linked to reduced cognitive abilities. The researchers found intensive smartphone use was associated with reduced math performance in particular.

“I got interested in smartphone behaviors because I noticed that many people, including myself, experienced a change in their personal interactions and social behaviours after purchasing smartphones,” said Aviad Hadar of Ben-Gurion University, the study’s corresponding author.

The latest statistics on teen mental health underscore the urgency of this debate.

Between 2010 and 2016, the number of adolescents who experienced at least one major depressive episode leapt by 60%, according to a nationwide survey conducted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The 2016 survey of 17,000 kids found that about 13% of them had a major depressive episode, compared to 8% of the kids surveyed in 2010. Suicide deaths among people age 10 to 19 have also risen sharply, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Young women are suffering most; a CDC report released earlier this year showed suicide among teen girls has reached 40-year highs. All this followed a period during the late-1990s and early 2000s when rates of adolescent depression and suicide mostly held steady or declined.

Monsanto's 'Jaw-Dropping' Deception Exposed in 'Whitewash'

Monsanto's 'Jaw-Dropping' Deception Exposed in 'Whitewash'
by Stacy Malkan, U.S. Right to Know / EcoWatch, 10 October 2017

Carey Gillam's new book is available now from Island Press: Whitewash: The Story of a Weed Killer, Cancer, and the Corruption of Science.

Gilliam's Whitewash is a hard-hitting investigation into the most widely used agrichemical in history, based on 20 years of research and scores of internal industry documents. For decades, glyphosate has been lauded as the chemical that's "safe enough to drink," but a growing body of scientific research ties glyphosate to cancers and a host of other health and environmental threats.

Whitewash is a "must-read," sayid Booklist. Kirkus Reviews called Whitewash a "hard-hitting, eye-opening narrative," and a "forceful argument for an agricultural regulatory environment that puts public interest above corporate profits."

Q: Carey, you've been reporting on pesticides and Monsanto for nearly 20 years. As a journalist, why was it important to write a book about the topic? Why now?

WESTPORT, Conn. — Enough about software; let's talk hardware. Is Sen. John McCain's glioblastoma, like the one that took Ted Kennedy's life in 2009, related in any way to the use of his cellphone? Is the mobile phone, the motherlode of media usage today, carried by 95 percent of Americans, as environmentally friendly as consumers would like to believe? It's small, svelte and isn't apparently shunned by vegans or eco-warriors among us.

Let's consider its local effects and those across our fragile planet. On the matter of elecromagnetic radiation, studies are inconclusive and ongoing. Last year, the National Toxicology Program of the NIH found that cellphone radiation increased the incidence of gliomas in male rats. Maybe you think you're not in the rat race. But in 2011, a Working Group of the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer classified cellphone use as "possibly carcinogenic to humans." The jury is out, but this isn't like the anti-vaccine lobby. Children are, in fact, more prone to radiation injury. To be on the safe side, scientists say, keep your phone away from head and body as much as possible.

Disturbing trends in men’s reproductive health demand urgent attention

A recent meta-analysis by Levine and colleagues1 showing significant declines in sperm counts among men in the Western world caught considerable media attention.2 The Levine study followed a similar report in The BMJ 25 years ago.3 Should we be concerned? Is male reproductive health really at risk?

Meta-analyses have some inherent limitations. However, an important and often overlooked point about data on the quality of semen is that trend data should be interpreted with a holistic view of male reproductive health problems, including parallel trends in testicular germ cell cancer (TGCC). Incidence of this cancer has risen substantially over the past few decades, particularly in young men.4 Increases seem to be occurring even in countries that have had low incidence. TGCC is linked to risk of poor semen quality: reports suggest that countries with a high incidence of this cancer have generally lower semen quality and vice versa.5

They've given it the catchy name of 'Krack Attack'

Consumers have been bombarded by bad news about digital security this year, most recently the massive Equifax data breach revealed in September. Now, security researchers have discovered a problem with how even the best WiFi networks are protected. As far as they know, no criminal has taken advantage of the vulnerability. But, it puts everyone’s web communications at risk.

And that means everyone. The researchers, based out of the University of Leuven in Belgium, say that every WiFi network in every home, office, and coffee shop around the world shares this flaw. And they have given it the catchy name of “Krack Attack.”

Amid a historic spike in U.S. traffic fatalities, federal data on the danger of distracted driving are getting worse.

Jennifer Smith doesn’t like the term “accident.” It implies too much chance and too little culpability.

A “crash” killed her mother in 2008, she insists, when her car was broadsided by another vehicle while on her way to pick up cat food. The other driver, a 20-year-old college student, ran a red light while talking on his mobile phone, a distraction that he immediately admitted and cited as the catalyst of the fatal event.

Belgian senators want recognition for EHS
by Martine Vriens, published on Saturday, October 07, 2017 for Stichting EHS https://stichtingehs.nl/

On May 24, 2017, a resolution was proposed in Belgium to acknowledge EHS. A very important step because, if the resolution is approved, the government will have to indicate what they have done with the resolution and what measures have been taken to protect people – especially with EHS, but also the entire population.

Translated from Dutch by the editors of EMFSA, with permission. The link to the article: https://stichtingehs.nl/blog/141-belgische-senatoren-willen-erkenning-voor-ehs

The proposal states that there are numerous testimonies of people with EHS who experience difficulties in every aspect of their lives. An acknowledgment would mean that these people can continue to function in society, because then reasonable adjustments can be made at the workplace and at home. It is also important to consider all consequences on health and any precautionary measures that should be taken for the entire population. It must be ensured that every citizen can choose how often he wants to expose himself to EMR.

California: Gov. Jerry Brown vetoes bill easing permits on cell phone towers
by TRACY SEIPEL | tseipel@bayareanewsgroup.com | Bay Area News Group, 16 October 2017

(Photo): Gov. Jerry Brown late Sunday vetoed Senate Bill 649, which proposed to scale back local government permit processes for antennas and equipment for wireless services.

SACRAMENTO — A bill co-authored by a Bay Area assemblyman that would have blocked the ability of cities and counties to control the installation of microwave radiation antennas was vetoed just before midnight Sunday by Gov. Jerry Brown.

In a signing statement, Brown wrote: “There is something of real value in having a process that results in extending this innovative technology rapidly and efficiently.”

Nevertheless, he noted, “I believe the interest which localities have in managing rights of way requires a more balanced solution than the one achieved in this bill.”

Brown served as the mayor of Oakland from 1999 to 2007.

Senate Bill 649, authored by Sen. Ben Hueso, D-San Diego and co-authored by Assemblyman Bill Quirk, D-Hayward, proposed to scale back permit processes for antennas and equipment in an effort to meet demand for wireless services.

The bill was primarily supported by the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association, the main trade group for the U.S. wireless telecommunications industry. The group said SB 649 would help boost the economy.

Phonegate : Welcome to La La Land !

[Press release] Phonegate : Welcome to la la land !
ba Marc Arazi, http://arazi.fr/, 16 October 2017

As a result of lax and imprecise international standards, hundreds of millions of users of mobile phones that have been placed on the market over the past twenty years are subjected to radiation levels in contact with the body, for some phones, more than three times the threshold limit (ten times with American standards). We now have proof of this, since Dr Arazi obtained the publication on 1 June 2017 of the initial partial results conducted by the French National Frequencies Agency (ANFR) , that our health, especially of younger people, is being deliberately endangered. Despite this, ANFR continues to hide essential informations. There is total inertia on the part of the public authorities despite having been alerted in various ways. It is urgent to inform the more than six billion users, including the French population, of the risks involved and the ways to protect against these risks.

One point in common with the various scandals that have been increasing in recent years, from Médiator to the “Monsanto papers” and Dieselgate, are the many obstacles to acquiring information.

Massachusetts: Wi-Fi Hypersensitivity Case Goes Forward

Wi-Fi Hypersensitivity Case Goes Forward

It’s unclear whether someone can be allergic to Wi-Fi. But regardless of the lack of scientific consensus, a lawsuit over a child’s alleged Wi-Fi sensitivities is moving forward.

The parents of a 12-year-old child had sued a Massachusetts private school for allegedly failing to reasonably accommodate their child’s condition—electromagnetic hypersensitivity syndrome, or EHS. Because of this condition, the parents alleged, the school’s Wi-Fi system gave plaintiff G headaches and nosebleeds, among other symptoms. The parents said the school refused to provide G with a Wi-Fi-free classroom, let G listen to his classes remotely, or let him participate in athletic activities while on medical leave.

Do You Really Believe Your Cell Phone (i.e. Microwave Transceiver) Is NOT Harming Your Health?

Do You Really Believe Your Cell Phone (i.e. Microwave Transceiver) Is NOT Harming Your Health?
by Paul Doyonelectromagneticsafeplanet.com, 12 October 2017

Cell Phones Everywhere

Wherever we go nowadays — in restaurants, cafes, shopping malls, on public transportation, on the street, in their cars, and even on T.V. — we see people engaged, often obsessively, with their wireless devices.

These devices that have made our lives so convenient have, to say the least, indeed also drastically changed our lifestyles, how we interact with each other, and how we behave in public. So if everyone is so utterly engrossed with his or her individual wireless devices without any seemingly overt problems, shouldn’t we not just chalk it up to normal behavior of the modern 21st century? And since our governmental organizations have seamlessly approved the use of these wireless devices, then they must also be safe, right? Well, hold your horses on those two beliefs, as it may very well be way too early to jump the gun on either of these particular conclusions.

After all, fifty years ago, it was quite common — and “normal” — to see people smoking cigarettes in all the places where it is perfectly acceptable for people to be using their wireless devices today. Nowadays, most people would throw a fit if someone invaded their space with second-hand cigarette smoke, but seemingly don’t think twice if someone invades their space with what might be regarded as second-hand electromagnetic radiation.

  • Live transmission of ultra-high-definition video over 5G
  • 5G for Augmented Reality: Slot car track with real-time interaction

Four radio cells in the Deutsche Telekom network are demonstrating the future of communication right now. The antennas in Berlin are the first in Europe with a live 5G connection in a real world setting. Using pre-standard 5GNew Radio (5G NR), the future mobile communications component of 5G, the network is achieving throughput of more than two gigabits per second to a single customer device, as well as a latency of three milliseconds on commercial sites in Berlin's Schöneberg district. Extremely high throughput and very short network reaction times are the key capabilities of 5G, which is set to drive forward the development of exciting new applications.

California: Appeals Court Won’t Reconsider Challenge To Berkeley Cellphone Warnings Law

Berkeley’s ordinance which has been in effect since 21 March 2016 requires cellphone retailers in the city to provide consumers with the following notification:

“To assure safety, the Federal Government requires that cell phones meet radiofrequency (RF) exposure guidelines. If you carry or use your phone in a pants or shirt pocket or tucked into a bra when the phone is ON and connected to a wireless network, you may exceed the federal guidelines for exposure to RF radiation. Refer to the instructions in your phone or user manual for information about how to use your phone safely.”

Hamburg has been chosen to test out the super speedy 5G data service, which should be available worldwide by 2020. In the next few weeks, Telecom will start installing an antenna to kick-start the testing process.

The EU is investing €7.7 million into the project and the new 5G service will supposedly be 10 times faster than the current service, downloading up to 10 gigabytes of data per second, according to the Hamburg Abendblatt.

Numerous European cities applied for the grant money, but only Venice and Hamburg were successful. Venice will be testing out the service’s functions for tourists, whereas the 7,200-hectare port will be used in Hamburg to test the service’s industrial functions.

Research suggests that as the brain grows dependent on phone technology, the intellect weakens

So you bought that new iPhone. If you are like the typical owner, you’ll be pulling your phone out and using it some 80 times a day, according to data Apple collects. That means you’ll be consulting the glossy little rectangle nearly 30,000 times over the coming year. Your new phone, like your old one, will become your constant companion and trusty factotum—your teacher, secretary, confessor, guru. The two of you will be inseparable.

The smartphone is unique in the annals of personal technology. We keep the gadget within reach more or less around the clock, and we use it in countless ways, consulting its apps and checking its messages and heeding its alerts scores of times a day. The smartphone has become a repository of the self, recording and dispensing the words, sounds and images that define what we think, what we experience and who we are. In a 2015 Gallup survey, more than half of iPhone owners said that they couldn’t imagine life without the device.

Apple's head of design says some people 'misuse' iPhones — and it reveals a growing problem for Apple
by Kif Leswing, 9 October 2017

  • Apple's two most senior executives have answered questions about people overusing smartphones by suggesting they get an Apple Watch.
  • The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, and The Guardian have all recently published long stories about how smartphones can be addictive.
  • Smartphone overuse is a growing public-relations problem for Apple — one it doesn't have a strong answer for yet.

Jony Ive, Apple's chief design officer, is clearly proud of his role in the invention of the iPhone, the device that spurred the smartphone boom, created multiple billion-dollar industries, and changed the world.

But he acknowledges that too much of a good thing can be bad.

He pointed to "constant use" of an iPhone as one example of iPhone misuse during a public talk at The New Yorker TechFest on Friday in New York, after the magazine's editor, David Remnick, pressed him on whether he ever felt ambivalent about inventing the iPhone.

Brain Tumor Rates Are Rising in the US: The Role of Cell Phone & Cordless Phone Use

Brain Tumor Rates Are Rising in the US: The Role of Cell Phone & Cordless Phone Use
saferemr.com, 5 October 2017

For additional evidence that cellphone and cordless phone use increase
brain tumor risk and that brain tumor incidence has been increasing in the U.S.
see "Should Cellphones Have Warning Labels?" and STORYLINE vs. REST-OF-THE-STORY:

Brain cancer incidence, cellphone use, and trends data
Hardell and Carlberg (2015) reported that brain tumor rates have been increasing in Sweden based upon the Swedish National Inpatient Registry data. Hardell and Carlberg (2017) reported that brain tumors of unknown type increased from 2007-2015, especially in the age group 20-39 years of age. According to the authors, "This may be explained by higher risk for brain tumor in subjects with first use of a wireless phone before the age of 20 years taking a reasonable latency period."

What about brain tumor rates in the United States?

The incidence of glioma, the most common malignant brain tumor, has been increasing in recent years in the United States, although not across-the-board. The National Cancer Institute reported that glioma incidence in the frontal lobe increased among young adults 20-29 years of age (Inskip et al., 2010).

Canadians Beginning to Petition Government Out of Concern Over Cell Phone Radiation
by Bill McGeelifepulsehealth.com
5 October 2017

An increasing number of Canadians are expressing concerns over being exposed to radiation from baby monitors, wireless internet routers, and cellular phones.

Of the last 16 environmental petitions filed, 7 of those were in regards to “concerned potential adverse health effects on humans from radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation from personal wireless devices”.

Some of the submitted petitions expressed concerns over how close people hold cellular devices to their bodies, while one calls for Canada to stop marketing such devices to kids under the age of 14.

Another petition focuses on possible impacts of radiation on newborn babies and the human eye. In fact, one petition asks Statistics Canada to collect data on electromagnetic hypersensitivity as part of its health survey of the Canadian community.

Canadian Labour Council President Voices Support: Why America Needs a Complete Ban on Asbestos Now!
by Hassan Yussuff, President, Canadian Labour Congressasbestosdiseaseawareness.org
29 September 2017

For decades, Canadian unions have been at the forefront to stamp out the deadly hazard of asbestos. Last December, when Canada announced its intention to ban asbestos by 2018, our Health Minister said, “When it comes to asbestos, the science is very clear. We’re taking action on this now to protect future generations of Canadians.” The Canadian ban was long overdue, after years of work by labour unions, health activists and families who have lost loved ones to asbestos diseases. It was not easy to get here. The resistance to banning asbestos in Canada was extensive and deeply-rooted in our history as a country with a significant asbestos industry for many years.

Asbestos is the leading cause of workplace-related death in Canada, and kills an estimated 15,000 people every year in the United States. Internationally, the World Health Organization (WHO) reports more than 100,000 asbestos-related deaths per year.

Asbestos Cancer Victim Gives Advice on Workplace Safety for Tech Students

We thank Virgil Anderson for having contacted us to let us know about this excellent site on asbestos exposure and mesothelioma.  He shares his story to warn others of the risks of being around asbestos and help keep people safe.

Asbestos Cancer Victim Gives Advice on Workplace Safety for Tech Students

As young men and women choosing to work in the skilled trades you have bright futures ahead of you. Plumbers, electricians, carpenters, mechanics, and other skilled workers will always be in demand. My name is Virgil Anderson and I spent my career working in construction, demolition, and automotive work. What I didn’t know at the time was that I was working around asbestos.

Today I am suffering the consequences of that exposure and living with a diagnosis of mesothelioma cancer. Although the risks of being exposed to asbestos are not nearly as great as they were in my day, I want to address young people going into the kinds of trades that could include working around asbestos. I want you to have the information that I didn’t have. You can work safely in any of these trades, but you need to be aware that asbestos may be around you and that you have a right to a safe workplace and proper training for recognizing and working safely with asbestos.

Massachusetts: Worcester: Judge Throws Out Counts Against Southboro School in Wi-Fi Suit

Judge throws out counts against Southboro school in Wi-Fi suit
by Scott O’Connell, Telegram & Gazette Staff,
3 October 2017

WORCESTER – A federal judge last week threw out most of the counts in a lawsuit brought by a boy and his parents who allege a Southboro private school’s wireless internet was sickening the student.

U.S. District Judge Timothy S. Hillman did, however, allow in his decision last Friday one remaining count of retaliation to proceed, keeping the family’s case against the Fay School and its head of school, Robert Gustavson, open.

The plaintiff in the dispute, “G,” who is represented by his parents, “Mother” and “Father,” filed the suit against the school two years ago in U.S. District Court in Worcester, when he was 12 years old. The family alleged the school would not sufficiently change its Wi-Fi practices to accommodate G, who the suit claims was being made ill by the internet signal in his classrooms.

Letters: Shady Side cellphone tower puts money over community's interests

Cellphone tower
by Priscilla Smith, capitalgazette.com/opinion, 5 October 2017

As a resident of Shady Side, a teacher and the mother of six school-aged children, I oppose the decision to erect a cellphone tower on the Shady Side Elementary School grounds. This tower favors a small financial gain for the school system over the best interest of the community.

I live next to the school and am concerned about my family's health. Supporters of the tower have obviously not read current studies finding radio frequency, or RF, radiation to be a probable carcinogen.

Current U.S. safety standards were created in 1996, before we had smartphones and towers everywhere. I look to current, global, peer-reviewed studies to inform my beliefs, and so should the school board. There is more than sufficient science to show a direct correlation between RF radiation and many diseases and health issues.

Why Are So Many Pharmacists Disillusioned?

“The military-industrial complex has nothing on the medical insurance-manufacturers-chain stores complex that has bamboozled and scared the public into believing that all these drugs and medical care are necessary and good for them. We are becoming a nation of legalized drug addicts subjugated by an un-healthcare industry focused on how much money they can extract from our wallets."

Why Are So Many Pharmacists Disillusioned?

by Terry Graedon, People's Pharmacy, 27 September 2017

Top Ten Reasons Pharmacists Are Disillusioned and Why You Should Care by Dennis Miller, R.Ph.

Most pharmacists receive a nice paycheck, so any claim that they are disillusioned is unlikely to garner much sympathy. But understanding the reasons why pharmacists are disillusioned may help you to better comprehend the world of pills and, more importantly, help you avoid harm.

As a result of my commentaries in the popular pharmacists’ magazine Drug Topics over the last 18 years, I’ve received a huge number of e-mails from pharmacists saying that they’d leave the profession tomorrow if they could find-or were capable of doing-anything else that pays as well. Many pharmacists are not recommending that their children major in pharmacy in college.

Why are so many pharmacists disheartened?

1. Our health care system has so little to do with health.

Many pharmacists have sent me e-mails bemoaning the fact that our health care system has little obvious relationship to health. In my opinion, if you were to ask a large number of pharmacists what is the best way to improve the health of their customers, the vast majority would NOT say something like: increase access to drugs, expand the utilization of drugs, improve the prescribing of drugs, decrease the cost of drugs, expedite the approval of new drugs, spur the development of new drugs, etc. Instead, I believe the vast majority of pharmacists would say something like: If people would just eat better, lose weight and, in general, take better care of themselves, they wouldn’t need to take so many pills.

Bees Don't Lie

"The colony collapse disorder has occurred concurrently on four continents within a very short time frame. If the reason was biological or chemical, there would be a pattern of epidemic spread – we would be able to trace the spread of bee disappearance or Colony Collapse Disorder from a source similar to the spread of SARS a few years ago. That is not the case. The condition has hit each continent at roughly the same time. That would mean the cause has to have hit the continents at the same time as well. Mobile phones meet that criterion." - George Carlo

Russia Hides Cancer Risks to Protect Its Role as the World’s Asbestos Dealer

Many American products still contain asbestos.  It is banned in many countries, but the U.S. isn’t one of them.

Russia Hides Cancer Risks to Protect Its Role as the World’s Asbestos Dealer

by Dr. Mercola, 30 September 2017

Story at-a-glance

  • Asbestos kills 100,000 people each year and is banned in 60 countries
  • Russia mines 1 million tons of asbestos each year and supplies more than half of the world’s asbestos
  • Russia has stopped recording mesothelioma cases in an apparent effort to conceal the health risks of asbestos

n the U.S., when people hear the word “asbestos,” the first thing that comes to mind is cancer. So, it may surprise you that this way of thinking is not universal, particularly in Russia where the asbestos industry is not only alive, but thriving. The term “asbestos” is used to describe six types of asbestos minerals: chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, tremolite, anthophyllite and actinolite — all of which are carcinogenic to humans.1

Asbestos, a naturally occurring mineral used worldwide in a variety of commercial products, is so toxic that even low-level exposure can cause lung cancer and other terminal diseases, including mesothelioma, a rare but aggressive form of cancer that can develop in the lungs, stomach or heart. Victims who contract this disease have a very low survival rate.2

Mr Mahmood Shariff Ali and 10 others want the mobile phone service provider barred from erecting the base trans-receiver station or within a radius of 500 metres from the parcel of land.

The plaintiffs further said that Safaricom Ltd has failed to comply with the requirements for conducting the proposed project

Safaricom has filed a notice of preliminary objection to the suit.

Some residents in Mombasa are seeking a permanent injunction barring Safaricom Ltd from erecting a base trans-receiver station on a parcel of land in Mwembe Tayari.

According to the suit papers, an environmental impact assessment was conducted that acknowledged that the residents and stakeholders were exposed to health hazards due to the levels of electromagnetic radiation emitted.

Elizabeth Kelley: "The technology we use is sold without prior research into its safety"
by Ana Montes, Madrid, lavozdegalicia.es, 30 September 2017
(Google translation)

The scientist calls for safe technology that protects us from the radiation of electromagnetic fields

Elizabeth Kelley, director of the independent scientific community EMFscientist.org, signed with Spanish scientists the International Declaration of Madrid with the aim of laying the legal foundations to protect the population from high and low frequency artificial electromagnetic fields. The Spanish declaration, which asks administrations to implement Resolution 1815 of the Council of Europe, supports the 2017 international appeal of scientists, focusing on the risks of 5G networks, which, like 2015 appeal, warns of scientific evidence on damages to health of electrical and wireless devices.

-What scientific evidence speaks of these risks?

-More than 25,000 studies document that these devices can cause cancer, cell stress, increased free radicals, genetic damage, changes in the reproductive system, damage to memory and learning, neurological disorders and human well-being. The 234 scientists from 41 countries supporting the appeal are experts in bioelectromagnetism, physics, biology, anthropology and medicine and have documented it in vitro, in vivo and in epidemiology. All studies are on our website and have been reviewed by the International Cancer Agency, which in 2011 classified electromagnetic fields as possibly carcinogenic grade 2B. Since then, studies have continued to appear with more evidence that could lead o grade 1 (carcinogenic) or 2A (probably carcinogenic).

Vulnerability in Children

Brain tumours have overtaken leukaemia as the leading cause of cancer deaths in children (both are associated with EMR exposure). Children today have an unprecedented exposure that is higher than that experienced any generation before them and they have been shown to absorb more radiation than adults.

  • A five year old can absorb sixty percent more microwave radiation than an adult and exposures in bone marrow can be up to ten times greater. Overall, they are more likely to suffer greater biological effects from EMR exposure because:
  • Children’s thinner skulls, and smaller bones allow greater absorption into bone and deeper tissues
  • Children’s brains (especially neonates) can have higher water content and so absorb more radiation
  • Children are smaller (a relatively higher proportion of their tissues may be closer to a point source)
  • Children have more vulnerable developing systems (e.g. neurological/reproductive)
  • Children have a longer time ahead for latent effects to manifest.

There is evidence that genetic damage caused by exposure within current guidelines may not only damage the exposed child, but also their offspring.

A New Era of Chronic Disease in America and What's Behind It

A New Era of Chronic Disease in America and what's behind it
Richard Lear, Brown University, researchgate.net, August 2017 - full text

A new era of disease is fast emerging in the US. The 21st century model of chronic disease turns the old model upside down. The spotlight has long been on cancer and heart disease, which once were both growing exponentially. Now, among forty fast-growing diseases, the incidence of only three cancers and one cardio-vascular related condition are growing. In their place, four relatively new fast-growing disease groups have emerged: 1) neurological; 2) autoimmune; 3) inflammatory and 4) metabolic disease. A single molecule called peroxynitrite operates at the heart of more than forty fast-growing chronic diseases and conditions in the US. This fast-acting anion creates more than 130 biochemical disruptions in vivo. Among the most troubling is the nitration of L-tryptophan and L-tyrosine, which are precursors to critical neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine. Peroxynitrite also damages the blood brain barrier (BBB). Such biological markers are hallmarks of neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s, autism, bi-polar disorder and depression. The endogenous culprit – peroxynitrite – is well documented. But what about the exogenous cause? There is now increasing evidence that our modern electrical environment is imposing biological stress on our bodies. Dr. Martin Pall’s voltage-gated ion theory provides evidence to support the connection. He cites two dozen studies that show microwaves from cell phones trigger the internal mechanism that creates an over-production of nitric oxide and peroxynitrite. The connection between the spectacular growth in the use of electronics and wireless technologies and the explosion of chronic disease is more than a simple correlation. Few are aware of the chronic disease epidemic that is going on right now in the US. Fewer still have heard of the peroxynitrite connection. Almost no one recognizes the crucial role that the cell phone in our pocket may be playing with our health. Yet our electrical environment has dramatically changed. And now electrical energy stands as the chief suspect driving this new era of disease in America.
