Swiss Department Of Public Instruction Implements “Precautionary Principle” Regarding Wi-Fi And Other Smart Tech Devices

Great to get feedback on this recent directive, which has also been posted on the site of the Environmental Health Trust.

Swiss Dept. Of Public Instruction Implements “Precautionary Principle” Regarding Wi-Fi And Other Smart Tech Devices
by Catherine J. Frompovich
naturalblaze.com, 9 September 2017

In July of 2017, the Republic and Canton of Geneva, Department of Public Instruction, Culture and Sport, Office for Children and Youth, Child and Youth Health Service of Switzerland did something rather unusual, but extremely proactive, to enforce the “Precautionary Principle.”

The Swiss Department of Public Instruction “issued a note on the risks of digital technology to health, which must be transmitted to all teachers at the start of the school year. The Service reminds us that screens also affect sleep and eyesight, and favor the development of diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity. The note briefly mentions electromagnetic radiation (in the context of cancer risk and the precautionary recommendations by the Federal Office for Public Health regarding use of Wi-Fi-WLAN). It is our hope that this note will also be sent to all physicians, especially pediatricians,” as per translation by the Editor of “Towards Better Health.” [2]

The information put forth by the Swiss Department of Public Instruction [1] borders on “dire” regarding the health problems no one in the microwave industry or its professional associations apparently wants to divulge to the public, since knowing such information rightfully would QUESTION the ‘universal’ acceptance and reliance upon harmful electromagnetic-radiation-emitting ‘smart’ technologies!

Johnson & Johnson Was Alerted to Risk of Asbestos in Talc in 1970's

J&J Was Alerted to Risk of Asbestos in Talc in ’70s, Files Show
by Jef Feeley, Margaret Cronin Fisk, and Jared S Hopkins, Bloomberg, 22 September 2017

  • Documents unsealed in suit show traces of carcinogen in mine
  • J&J’s tests going back to 1972 find no traces of asbestos

Johnson & Johnson trained its employees to reassure anyone concerned about whether the company’s talcum powder contained asbestos that the cancer-causing substance “has never been found and it never will’’ in its iconic baby powder, according to an undated memo unsealed in a lawsuit against the drugmaker.

But plaintiffs say other unsealed documents indicate that J&J has known for decades that its talc products include asbestos fibers and that the exposure to those fibers can cause ovarian cancer. The talc used by J&J to make its products “is not now, nor has it ever been, free from asbestos and asbestiform fibers,’’ according to the lawsuit filed on behalf of more than 50 women in St. Louis.

Asbestos Deaths Remain A Public Health Concern, CDC Finds

Recently, it was Mesothelioma Awareness Day (26 September).  We are sharing with you this site from the United States which has comprehensive information on mesothelioma, including the latest treatment options:
https://mesothelioma.net/mesothelioma/

Trump's administration is giving asbestos a second look. This carcinogen is banned by 58 nations and linked to the cancer deaths of nearly 63,000 Americans between 1999 and 2014.  The Obama administration moved to ban asbestos. But Scott Pruitt, the new head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, in his written testimony to the Senate, indicated he wasn’t ready to follow suit.

People are still dying of cancer linked to asbestos, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control says, despite decades of regulations meant to limit dangerous exposure.

Starting in 1971, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has regulated how much asbestos workers can be exposed to, because it contains tiny fibers that can cause lung disease or cancer if they are swallowed or inhaled.

The Environmental Protection Agency regulates asbestos too, setting requirements for inspecting, demolishing and renovating buildings that contain materials made with asbestos, like insulation, vinyl tiles, roofing, shingles and paint.

Rhode Island: Students' Request for Screen-Free Time Included in Cumberland Schools' New Strategic Plan

Students’ request for screen-free time included in Cumberland schools’ new strategic plan
by Ethan Shorey, Valley Breeze Managing Editor, 20 September 2017

CUMBERLAND – Cumberland High School students, tired of spending too much time looking at electronic screens, are asking for “screen-free days” in the future, and school officials say they’re inclined to oblige.

The request from students is a key takeaway from a new three-year strategic plan unanimously approved by the School Committee last week, a “working draft” that school officials say is designed to improve Cumberland schools over the next three years.

The focus statement for the 2017-2020 strategic plan is “We believe. No excuses. Only results.”

Everyone in the local school community rallied around the “We believe” statement in particular, said Supt. Bob Mitchell.

According to Mitchell, the strategic plan calls for the Cumberland School Department to be a “top five” district in Rhode Island across all levels within three years. Local schools are “knocking at the door already on a couple of levels,” he said.

Nigeria: Making Telecoms Masts Safer Around People

Telecoms Mast
All towers sited within residential areas must conform to the provisions stipulated in the Guidelines to mitigate the effect of heat, smoke and noise pollution arising from generating sets. But the issue of concern goes beyond heat, smoke and noise pollution. It is rather that of radiations from telecoms masts and the attendant dire health implications.

The debate on whether radiations from telecommunication masts are dangerous to human health was recently rekindled by the National Environmental Standard, Regulatory and Enforcement Agency, NESREA, Director General, Dr Lawence Anukam. In a television interview, he had, while citing a World Health Organisation, WHO, report cautioned against unregulated siting of telecoms masts in residential areas and warned against undue human exposure to them.

A virtual ban on cellphone use at Central Middle School — a first in the Greater Victoria School District — has already had an effect.

“It’s sort of surreal — you come into the building and there are no phones around,” said Central principal Topher Macintosh, noting only two phones have had to confiscated since the policy kicked in in September, although some students might have cellphones stashed in their backpacks.

A small number of Central students needing to use cellphones to contact family after school are allowed to keep them in the office during the day, but otherwise there is a ban at the 580-student facility.

“It’s gone very well in a lot of ways,” Macintosh said. “We knew we wanted that change, but we didn’t think it was going to be that challenging to implement in the building, and it really hasn’t been.

Li-Fi eyes opportunity as France bans Wi-Fi in schools
by  Robert Leemingluxreview.com, 23 May 2017

Wi-Fi has been banned by the French state in an attempt to protect
young people from 'possibly carcinogenic' electromagnetic waves.
The French government has moved to outlaw Wi-Fi in nurseries, schools and childcare centres that cater for children under six. The move is offering inspiration to the creators of Li-Fi, a system that uses light to provide internet access.

Wi-Fi has been banned by the French state in an attempt to protect young people from ‘possibly carcinogenic’ effects of the transmissions.

Li-Fi, by contrast, uses visible light from LED luminaires to transmit information and escapes the ban.

With U.S. Research and Regulation Nearly Nonexistent, We Must Look Abroad for Information on Dangers of Cell Phone Use

With U.S. research and regulation nearly nonexistent, we must look abroad for information on dangers of cell phone use
by Greg Blassriverheadlocal.com
25 September 2017

Is the way we use cell phones actually dangerous? Do other countries know far more about the health risks of chronic use of cell phones than we do? Why is that? What’s the health impact of wireless phones and iPads on the developing brains of teenagers, toddlers and infants? And are there simple precautions when using wireless telephones — precautions that most of us know nothing about?

Ever since the U.S. Navy started using radar, sailors aboard cold, windswept decks found refuge by standing in front of the ship’s radar screens. They found this a warm and comfortable reprieve, while the chocolate, gum, etc. in their pockets melted. Thus the accidental discovery of the fast-cooking properties of radar waves. But private industry had to market this cooking technology more attractively to homemakers. They gave it a more suitable, culinary name than radar-wave cooking, favoring us with the now-ubiquitous “microwave” oven.

New Apple Watch Reignites Concerns Over Radiation

New Apple Watch reignites concerns over radiation
by Catherine Ho, San Francisco Chronicle,
25 September 2017

The newly released Apple Watch — with its added feature of cellular connectivity — is reigniting concerns among some public health researchers and medical experts over the potential health risks of longterm exposure to radiation from cell phones.

There is no definitive data from federal health regulators showing a direct link between cell phone radiation — also known as radio frequency radiation — and health problems in humans. But recent research indicates that exposure to cell phone radiation is the likely cause of malignant growths in the brains and hearts of male rats, and can cause neurological damage in rats born to mothers that were exposed to the radiation during pregnancy.

How does technology affect family relationships?
Syda Productions/ Shutterstock.com
Family life in Japan. As part of that work, we compared our results from Japan to studies asking similar questions of U.S. families, conducted by our collaborator Common Sense Media, a nonprofit organization focusing on children and technology. We found Japanese and U.S. families struggling in very similar ways with the impact of technology on their lives, their relationships and each other.

Parents and teens in both societies use online media for long periods every day, which at times causes family stress and arguments. Some feel addicted to their devices, and many worry about family members’ apparent addictions to technology. And in both countries, there are children who feel their parents neglect them in favor of digital devices.
Shared feelings of anxiety

We polled 1,200 Japanese parents and teens to find out how the saturation of cellphones and other devices in family life is playing out in homes and child-parent relationships. We compared their answers to Common Sense’s existing research on U.S. teens and parents.

The Real Dangers of Electronic Devices and Electromagnetic Fields

The Real Dangers of Electronic Devices and EMFs
by Dr. Mercola, 24 September 2017

Story at-a-glance

  • Exposure to microwave radiation from cellphones, routers, cordless phones, smart meters, baby monitors and other wireless devices causes massive mitochondrial dysfunction due to free radical damage
  • Excessive free radicals triggered by low-frequency microwave exposure from wireless technologies have been linked to cardiac arrhythmias, anxiety, depression, autism, Alzheimer’s, infertility and more
  • In addition to remediating obvious EMF exposures, strategies that may help reduce the harmful effects of EMFs include optimizing your magnesium level, eating Nrf2-boosting foods and pulsing molecular hydrogen

I was recently interviewed by Dave Asprey when I visited his Bulletproof lab on Vancouver Island.1 In it, I review the real dangers of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) emitted by electronic devices. I will also do a more comprehensive lecture on this topic at Asprey's Bulletproof Conference October 13 through 15 at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California.

National Toxicology Program Finds Cell Phone Radiation Causes Cancer
saferemr.com, 12 September 2017 - updated 20 September 2017

Scientists from the National Toxicology Program presented their data on the genotoxicity of cell phone radiation in rats and mice at the annual meeting of the Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society held in Raleigh, North Carolina from September 9-13, 2017.

Male and female rats and mice were exposed to 2G cell phone radiation, either CDMA or GSM, for 18 hours per day in 10 minute intervals. The rats were exposed to cell phone radiation at 1.5, 3, or 6 W/kg specific absorption rate (SAR) for 19 weeks from gestation day 5. The mice were exposed to radiation at 2.5, 5, or 10 W/kg SAR for 13 weeks from postnatal day 5.

DNA damage was assessed in three brain regions, in liver cells and in blood leukocytes using the comet assay. Chromosomal damage was assessed in peripheral blood erythrocytes using the micronucleus assay.

DNA damage was significantly increased:

Council of Europe: Draft Guidelines to Promote, Protect and Fulfil Children's Rights in the Digital Environment Make No Mention of Children's Exposure to Electromagnetic Radiation

It would be very helpful if someone could clarify this for us.

The Council of Europe has issued a draft document, comments due by 4 September 2017: "Guidelines to promote, protect and fulfil children’s rights in the digital environment", applying to all children under the age of 18 in the 47 Member States of the Council of Europe. It seems to cover subjects such as child sexual abuse, bullying, protection of personal data, etc. and to promote digital education. After a quick perusal of the document, we see no mention of the mental and physical risks of exposing children to the electromagnetic radiation (EMR) emitted by digital technology. The right to health and well-being is a fundamental human right that seems to be neglected in this document, in the context of EMR exposure.

California: 5G Opponents Launch Statewide Media Campaign

"Trying to eliminate local control over the placement of powerful wireless antennas shows that the industry is fully aware of the public health problems associated with wireless radiation," said Reinette Senum, a City Council member and former Mayor of Nevada City. "If there was nothing to worry about, why would they be so opposed to any local control?"

5G opponents launch statewide media campaign
by Christian Hargrave, Assignment Editorappdevelopermagazine.com, 17 September 2017

A coalition of California environmental, health and community groups, "California Alliance for Safer Technology," announces the launch of a radio and social media campaign to raise awareness of pending legislation eliminating local control over placement of wireless antennas in communities throughout California. The campaign, in San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles, is based on mounting evidence that exposure to wireless radiation is associated with an increased risk of cancer and neurological and reproductive problems.

"This is a basic issue of involuntary exposure and the right of citizens to protect their own health and safety," says Ellen Marks, founder of the California Brain Tumor Association. "We're not against technology, but 5G has not been proven safe. People should have a right to decide if they want a powerful radiation-spewing antenna in front of their home or not."

Church steeples, because of their height and key in-city locations, are bringing churches $25K, $50K and more yearly from telecom companies for cellphone arrays.

“Next time you pass a church, look up and take a closer look at its steeple,” says DCG Real Estate, which helps churches to market themselves to telecoms. “There’s a reasonably good chance it’s a cell tower.”

Not only are church steeples desirable locations for the telecoms, but the churches, mosques and temples appear eager to buttress their incomes in a way that involves little effort and no cost.

City of Austin Sues Texas Over Massive New Telecom Bill

City of Austin sues Texas over massive new telecom bill
by Phil Prazankxan.com, 24 August 2017

AUSTIN (KXAN) – The City of Austin sued the State of Texas in Federal Court over its massive new telecommunications law, SB 1004, which takes effect Sept. 1. This year, lawmakers decided to take away much of city’s power to regulate the installation of cell service and wireless internet, and the City of Austin wants to go to court.

In order to bring faster and better quality internet to cell phones — including preparing for the capability to 5G internet — state lawmakers made it easier for major telecommunications companies to put up small cell towers on public right of way. The new law would allow telecom companies to use streetlights, street signs and utility poles with less oversight from cities in Texas.

World Without Mind: The Existential Threat of Big Tech

World Without Mind: The Existential Threat of Big Tech
by Franklin Foer (Author), published September 2017, Amazon review

Franklin Foer reveals the existential threat posed by big tech, and in his brilliant polemic gives us the toolkit to fight their pervasive influence.

Over the past few decades there has been a revolution in terms of who controls knowledge and information. This rapid change has imperiled the way we think. Without pausing to consider the cost, the world has rushed to embrace the products and services of four titanic corporations. We shop with Amazon; socialize on Facebook; turn to Apple for entertainment; and rely on Google for information. These firms sell their efficiency and purport to make the world a better place, but what they have done instead is to enable an intoxicating level of daily convenience. As these companies have expanded, marketing themselves as champions of individuality and pluralism, their algorithms have pressed us into conformity and laid waste to privacy. They have produced an unstable and narrow culture of misinformation, and put us on a path to a world without private contemplation, autonomous thought, or solitary introspection—a world without mind. In order to restore our inner lives, we must avoid being coopted by these gigantic companies, and understand the ideas that underpin their success.

We need to stop Silicon Valley from convincing us that we want the things
companies tell us we do.  (Reuters/China Daily)
Today marks the debut of Apple’s iPhone 8 and iPhone X—the latter a $1,000 piece of equipment rumored to deliver a stunning augmented reality experience. As a technological feat, the phone’s augmented-reality capabilities may well be extraordinary. But they also signify a troubling assumption that powers much of today’s consumer technology: that daily human life is so painful, so boring, that we are all desperate for any possible means of escape.

As I explain in my new book, The Hacking of the American Mind, many of us may not hate reality as much as tech companies want us to think we do. Rather, consumer tech has conditioned us to seek out distraction, using a number of clever neuroscientific techniques that coerce us into complicity. If we want to reclaim our lives, we need to stop Silicon Valley from convincing us that we want the things companies tell us we do.

Firefighters Exempt Selves from Calif. Bill to Save Others
by Susan Fosterodwyerpr.com, 13 September 2017

California firefighters are used to saving lives, and if SB 649 passes through the California Legislature this week, it looks like the lives they may be saving are their own.

For the first time in U.S. history, a health exemption has been granted to firefighters for their stations in California. The state’s firefighters have a history dating back to the late 1990s of fighting to get cell towers off their stations, and in a preemptive move the firefighters asked for and the legislators granted an exemption from SB 649.

This legislation, the “Wireless telecommunications facilities” bill, is essentially a telecom takeover giving wireless carriers the right to force cities and counties to lease available lampposts, the right-of-way and public buildings – with the exception of fire stations.

by Jack O'Dwyerodwyerpr.com, 15 September 2017

The Calif. Brain Tumor Assn. condemned passage of a bill Sept. 14 that allows proliferation of cell towers for the new 4G and 5G cellphone transmitting devices.

The Calif. Assembly voted 46-16 with 17 abstentions and the Senate voted 22-10 with 18 abstentions for a bill that forces local communities to lease their land to telecom companies for the new generation of cell towers that are needed every 5-10 houses according to some estimates. It now goes before Gov. Jerry Brown who could veto or not veto it.

CBTA said, "The burning question Gov. Brown should be asking himself as he makes a decision that could change California forever is this: If we exempt fire stations to protect firefighters, why are we allowing cell towers throughout neighborhoods, in front of preschools, schools, hidden in church steeples, on lampposts, utility poles and on most public buildings if these are too dangerous for fire stations?"

Researchers have found that where power lines cross the motorway, more accidents occur. They suspect that electrosmog can lead to brief unconsciousness in drivers.

It happened on the Kantonsstrasse between Reigoldswil and Ziefen BL: A brand-new bus from Autobus AG Liestal went off the road in the summer of 2009, passed a stream bed and came to a halt on a forest edge. The passengers were not injured, but the chauffeur suffered a bleeding wound on his head. The police said the accident had occurred because the chauffeur had "lost consciousness" for a short time.

Flight attendant Kerstin Konrad still remembers her first "fume event" - as the industry calls air inside the aircraft that is possibly contaminated.

"On the flight, passengers were asking for headache tablets," Konrad told DW.

Passengers had noticed a peculiar smell at the back of the plane and the captain asked her to check it out, she says. "I went back and sniffed the air nozzle."

"I immediately got a headache and a tingling sensation in my limbs that spread like numbness." She says she then became dazed and so confused she could not perform even the simplest task. "I could not sort the juices on the trolley anymore, which sounds crazy."

Study Prompts Call to Examine Flu Vaccine and Miscarriage

Study prompts call to examine flu vaccine and miscarriage
by Mike Stobbe, AP, 13 September 2017

NEW YORK (AP) — A puzzling study of U.S. pregnancies found that women who had miscarriages between 2010 and 2012 were more likely to have had back-to-back annual flu shots that included protection against swine flu.

Vaccine experts think the results may reflect the older age and other miscarriage risks for the women, and not the flu shots. Health officials say there is no reason to change the government recommendation that all pregnant women be vaccinated against the flu. They say the flu itself is a much greater danger to women and their fetuses.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reached out to a doctor’s group, the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, to warn them the study is coming out and help them prepare for a potential wave of worry from expectant moms, CDC officials said.

Male Infertility Crisis in U.S. Has Experts Baffled

"Environmental Castration":...  Obesity, physical inactivity, stress, drug use, climate change... Hagai Levine doesn’t scare easily. The Hebrew University public health researcher is the former chief epidemiologist for the Israel Defense Forces, which means he’s acquainted with danger and risk in a way most of his academic counterparts aren’t. So when he raises doubts about the future of the human race, it’s worth listening. Together with Shanna Swan, a professor of environmental medicine and public health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Levine authored a major new analysis that tracked male sperm levels over the past few decades, and what he found frightened him. “Reproduction may be the most important function of any species,” says Levine. “Something is very wrong with men.”

Canadian Study Confirms Asbestos Exposure Comes at a Very High Price

Canadian Study Confirms Asbestos Exposure Comes at a Very High Price
by Rory O'Neillcancerhazards.org, 25 August 2017

(Image):  According to national data, asbestos in Canada has been labelled as the single largest factor contributing to deaths on the job. In 2013, about 368 deaths reported were because of asbestos, which puts the fatality rate much higher than that caused from chemical exposures, highway accidents and fires combined.  Source:  "Asbestos - To Remove or Not Remove":  2015 article published by torontoism.com)

Asbestos isn’t just the biggest industrial killer of all time, it is also a massive drain on the economy, new research has confirmed.

Canadian researchers estimated the lifetime cost of newly diagnosed lung cancer and mesothelioma cases associated with occupational and para-occupational [typically exposed family members] asbestos exposure for the calendar year 2011, including healthcare, productivity and output, and quality of life costs. In the year there were 427 cases of newly diagnosed mesothelioma cases and 1,904 lung cancer cases attributable to asbestos exposure.

The researchers estimated the economic burden at $C831 million (£515m) in direct and indirect costs for the total 2,331 newly identified cases of mesothelioma and lung cancer and $C1.5 billion (£0.93bn) in quality of life costs. The calculation is based on a value of $C100,000 (£62,000) per quality-adjusted life year. This amounts to $C356,429 (£221,000) and $C652,369 (£404,000) per case, respectively.

Yet Another Reason Not to Hold Your Cellphone
by Dr. Mercola, 9 September 2017

Story at-a-glance

  • The popularity of cellphones makes this technology the most quickly accepted device in the history of consumer technology, leading to overuse, addictive behavior and increasing your risk of illness or disease
  • Recent research has identified over 20 different bacterial species on phones of secondary school students; other studies demonstrate proximity to cellphones increases your exposure to EMF radiation
  • Cellphone addiction increases your risk of exposure to radiation, triggering mitochondrial damage that may result in diseases such as atherosclerosis, heart attack and inflammatory bowel disease to name just a few

Wireless Industry Creates “Communication Materials” And Propaganda: When The Public Misinterprets It As Cell Phones And Wireless Being Safe, Industry Does Not Clarify

Just as the Tobacco Industry created a “Playbook” to defend cigarettes and manufacture doubt about the health effects of cigarettes, the Wireless Industry seems to have a fine-tuned “Playbook” of advertising, public relations and industry-funded science to defend wireless products and falsely reassure the public that cell phones and wireless products are safe.

Cell phones and wireless were never adequately tested for human health effects. Wireless devices were not premarket tested for long term safety. Research has accumulated indicating that wireless “radiofrequency” radiation has serious biological effects. Despite this reality, the wireless industry has and is currently heavily funding a public relations effort that propagates the myth that cell phones and wireless “are safe”. This webpage is an educational resource documenting materials used for the wireless industry “Playbook”.

Paper ... or glass?

Advances in laptops and technology are pushing screens into schools like never before. So what does this drive toward digital classrooms mean for that oldest and simplest of touch screens: a plain old sheet of paper?

It may seem a wasteful and obsolete technology, ready to follow the slate chalkboard and the ditto machine into the Smithsonian, or a flat, white invitation to creativity, just waiting for some learning magic to happen.

And when it comes to learning and retention, is there any difference between reading and writing on an electronic "tablet" or a paper one?

Documentary "Dust to Dust - the Health Effects of 9/11"

“Dust to Dust”, a 58-minute documentary produced by Bruce Kennedy and Heidi Dehncke-Fisher, is a tribute to the first responders of 9/11.  It describes their very serious health problems following clean-up of the toxic wreckage of the World Trade Center and the cover-up by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency of the extreme hazardous contamination in the days immediately following the attacks “in order to get Wall Street – and the economy – up and running”.  Attention, the film shows the towers on fire and collapsing.  (The film is available on You Tube).)

"A lot more people will be flooding into doctors' offices and emergency rooms, looking for the unknown cause of the terrible headaches, confusion, ear ringing, seizures, nose bleeds, chest pain, heart palpitations, severe insomnia, and numerous other symptoms that people have reported as result of massive exposure to wireless radiation... The doctors may or may not be able to properly diagnose them and the treatments are few and far between, other than avoidance of wireless radiation."

In 1928, when Herbert Hoover was running for President, the slogan of the Republican National Committee was "a chicken every pot and a car in every garage." Times have changed. Many millennials are turning to vegetarianism, and cars are not the necessary status symbol for them that they were for previous generations. However there is one thing that all age groups can agree on in 2017. We need wireless connectivity, the more the better. Smart meters, smart phones, wireless printers, smart refrigerators, smart toothbrushes, smart bras, smart condoms, smart diapers, smart dolls, smart watches, driverless cars, a whole universe of wirelessly connected objects to make our lives effortless and allegedly less wasteful of natural resources. What could go wrong?

District 42 blocks access to Netflix, Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram

High schools in Maple-Ridge and Pitt Meadows are cutting off students from one of their favourite things: social media.

School District 42 has re-configured its school Wi-Fi networks to block access to popular sites such as Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram and Netflix.

Irena Pochop, the senior manager of communications for the district, said the changes come at the request of the secondary school principals.

"They were concerned that certain social media platforms were a distraction in the classroom, so they came to the district to see what we can provide at the district level," Pochop said.

Queen’s former doctor wants check-ups for statin patientsby Lucy Johnstonexpress.co.uk, 10 September 2017

PATIENTS prescribed statins should be given a GP check-up weeks later to see whether they are suffering side effects, the Queen’s former doctor says.

The controversial cholesterol-lowering drugs are taken by millions in the UK, although critics warn reactions, such as muscle pain, depression, fatigue, impaired memory and stroke, can outweigh the benefits.

They are prescribed to people with a raised risk of heart problems, although experts say this takes in most men over 50 and women over 60.

A study has suggested that millions in their 20s and 30s could also benefit.

But Sir Richard Thompson, ex-president of the Royal College of Physicians and the Queen’s former doctor, said more checks were needed before the move was considered.

Can Fitness Trackers Cause Cancer?

Can Fitness Trackers Cause Cancer?
by Jeanine Barone, berkeleywellness.com, 8 September 2017

Q: Can fitness trackers, like Fitbit, cause cancer or other health problems?

A: There’s no conclusive evidence that wearable technology devices, which emit low-powered, non-ionizing radio frequency (RF) energy, are either safe or risky. Typically worn all day and sometimes at night, the devices use low-powered Bluetooth technology, Wi-Fi, or a 3G/4G connection to send data (such as the number of steps you take) to your smart phone, computer, or cloud storage. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) sets limits for how much RF energy the devices can emit.

Proponents of the devices maintain that the level of RF energy emitted is too low to be of concern. But some experts, including Joel Moskowitz, Ph.D., at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, believe that biological effects could occur even at low RF levels because of interference with the normal electrical fields generated by processes within body cells, particularly those involving proteins and genes.

Switzerland: Life Under High Voltage

Residential houses in Aspi near Seedorf are directly below the high-voltage line. Swissgrid plans to strengthen this. But how do the residents deal with the permanent influence of electrosmog?

We can neither see nor feel electric and magnetic fields. Nevertheless, they are ubiquitous. For example, when switching on coffee machines, on the train and around our electricity lines. This fact makes many people insecure. But Swiss households need electricity - a lot of electricity. This must be somehow transported.

If there is more electricity, the line capacities must be increased. In order to avoid bottlenecks, the Swiss electricity grid is therefore constantly being modernized and expanded. This includes, for example, the planned expansion of the line between Bassecourt JU and the Bernese Mühlenberg.

In Aspi near Seedorf this line runs directly over the roofs of the village. But what does it mean to live under a high-voltage line?

WASHINGTON — A company interested in building dozens of new cellphone towers near schools in Prince George’s County has called off those plans.

Milestone Communications signed a deal with Prince George’s County Public Schools in 2011 in hopes of putting up cellphone towers near as many as 70 school properties.

But there has been strong opposition from the community.

“Parents raised concerns about the placement of towers on the property, some citing health concerns and others just … worried about their property values,” said Wesley Watts, the school district’s chief operating officer.

No Risk Factors in Quarter of Heart Attacks

Comment to the following article posted

Emerging risk factors need to be investigated. Massively increased human exposure to wireless radiation (microwave/radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation) over the last couple of decades (over a million fold!) is likely contributor as there is evidence of MW/RF-EMR implication in heart disease. Low intensity MW/RF-EMR alters voltage-gated ion channels such as Ca2+ channels and also induce oxidative stress - plausible mechanisms of biological effects. Here's a demonstration of a cordless phone influencing the heart:https://www.youtube.com/wat...

No Risk Factors in Quarter of Heart Attacks
MEGAN HAGGANajp.com.au, 29 August 2017

A growing number of heart attack patients don’t have any standard risk factors

Risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, being diabetic, or cigarette smoking, have long been used as predictors of developing heart disease.

However, a recent study by Heart Research Australia’s Professor Gemma Figtree, published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, has found that there is an increasing proportion of heart attack patients without any standard risk factors, such as high cholesterol.

Municipal Fiber Optic Networks Are the Fuaure, Home Automation Expert Says

Timothy Schoechle : "We don’t need all these 5G wireless networks because they are much more expensive than fiber. And that’s why utilities and the telecom industry want to build them: to make a profit. They have to do this every 10-20 years — reinvent new generations of technology — to be successful, otherwise they go out business. It’s called planned obsolescence: your old phone doesn’t work with the new technology because they want sell you new phones."

The Harmful Effects of Electromagnetic Fields Explained

The Harmful Effects of Electromagnetic Fields Explained
by Dr. Mercola, 3 September 2017

Story at-a-glance

  • Exposure to microwave EMFs, like cellphones, causes massive mitochondrial dysfunction due to damage done by free radicals from peroxynitrite that also cause single and double stranded breaks in your DNA
  • Excessive free radicals triggered by low-frequency microwave exposure from cellphones and Wi-Fi networks have been linked to chronic diseases such as cardiac arrhythmias, anxiety, depression, autism, Alzheimer’s and infertility
  • Excessive calcium signaling produced by EMF exposures also has important roles in producing pathophysiological effects of EMFs including each of the effects listed above
  • Strategies that may help reduce the harmful effects of EMFs include optimizing your magnesium level, certain Nrf2-boosting foods, exercise, calorie restriction and strategies that boost nitric oxide signaling (which acts, in turn, by raising Nrf2)

I’ve often noted that electromagnetic fields (EMFs) are a pernicious, hidden health risk. But exactly how does this kind of microwave radiation damage your health? Martin Pall, Ph.D., has identified and published research describing the likely molecular mechanisms of how EMFs from cellphones and wireless technologies damage plants, animals and humans.1,2 ,3,4
